Cablu SAS DeLOCK 83388

The DeLOCK 83388 is a 0.5 m Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) cable that connects devices with Mini SAS interfaces. It features a Mini SAS HD x4 SFF-8643 connector on one end and a Mini SAS x4 36-pin SFF-8087 connector on the other, enabling a single-cable connection between a controller and backplanes or multi-drive assemblies in server and storage systems. Its short length helps reduce cable clutter in compact enclosures.

Advantages

This SAS cable supports high-speed SAS data transfer between compatible devices while occupying minimal space due to its 0.5 m length. The combination of SFF-8643 and SFF-8087 connectors provides compatibility with common Mini SAS HD ports and legacy Mini SAS internal ports, simplifying connections in rack servers and storage arrays. The black jacket provides a standard neutral appearance for internal installations.

Suitable for

• Connecting a SAS controller to a backplane with several HDDs
• Internal cabling inside rack servers and storage enclosures
• Upgrading or replacing internal SAS cables in compact systems

How to use

Power down equipment before making internal connections. Insert the SFF-8643 connector into the Mini SAS HD port on the controller and the SFF-8087 connector into the internal Mini SAS port on the backplane or target device, ensuring correct orientation and a secure fit. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and secure it with existing cable management to prevent strain. Restore power and verify that connected drives are detected by the controller.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, use this cable only with compatible Mini SAS SFF-8643 and SFF-8087 ports, avoid exceeding the cable’s bend radius, and handle connectors by their housings to prevent contact damage.
