The Lanberg RSFE-8P-2GE-120 is an unmanaged PoE+ Ethernet switch designed for small to medium installations such as homes, offices, surveillance and low-voltage systems. The device combines data switching and power delivery over the same cabling, providing PoE/PoE+ (IEEE 802.3af/at) support with a total power budget of up to 120 W. The switch includes eight PoE-capable RJ-45 ports and two Gigabit uplink ports for connecting external devices or upstream network equipment.

How to use

Mount the switch in a suitable location or rack using the supplied mounting ears and screws. Connect upstream network equipment to the two Gigabit uplink ports and connect end devices—IP cameras, VoIP phones or access controllers—to the eight PoE ports. Ensure total powered device consumption does not exceed the 120 W PoE budget; when the budget limit is reached the switch will disable higher-numbered PoE ports first. Use standard Cat5e/6 cables for data and power transmission and follow local installation and grounding practices.

Recommendations

The device is best installed in ventilated, dry environments and connected to properly earthed infrastructure. Place critical devices on lower-numbered PoE ports to ensure they remain powered if the PoE budget is exceeded. Regularly check cable quality and secure rack mounting to maintain reliable operation.
