Switch administrabil Edimax GS-5216PLC

The EDIMAX GS-5216PLC is an ONVIF-compliant PoE switch designed for IP surveillance and networked security devices. It supports quick discovery and configuration of ONVIF Profile G/S/A/C/T/M devices, offers long-range PoE delivery, and includes features for power monitoring, backfeed protection and firmware failover to maintain reliable operation.

Advantages

The GS-5216PLC enables easy plug-and-play setup for ONVIF-conformant products and simplifies system integration. It provides robust data forwarding with a 36 Gbps backplane and 26.7 Mpps forwarding rate, built-in PoE detection and backfeed protection for safe power delivery, a 4-digit LED that displays power consumption information, and redundant firmware storage to recover from firmware issues. Long-range mode extends PoE distance to 200 meters for remote devices.

Key specifications

• ONVIF compliant for Profiles G/S/A/C/T/M
• Backplane bandwidth: 36 Gbps
• Forwarding rate: 26.7 Mpps
• Long-range PoE mode: up to 200 meters at 10 Mbps full-duplex (per port)
• PoE features: power detection and per-port backfeed protection
• Power monitoring: 4-digit LED display with total and per-port consumption readout
• Firmware redundancy: two stored firmware images with failover capability

How to use

Connect the GS-5216PLC to your network and attach ONVIF-compliant cameras or other PoE devices to the switch ports. Use the web-based GUI or ONVIF discovery to detect and configure devices. If using long-range devices, enable long-range mode per port to extend power and data delivery up to 200 meters at 10 Mbps full-duplex. Monitor power usage via the 4-digit LED or the GUI and use the hardware select button to view total or per-port power consumption.

Recommendations

For reliable operation, connect only PoE devices that meet standard PSE/PD specifications to avoid compatibility issues. Regularly verify firmware status and apply updates through the web GUI; the built-in firmware redundancy can be used to restore operation if an update fails. Use long-range mode when required by distance but confirm device compatibility with 10 Mbps full-duplex operation.
