Ciocan Gedore 1707663

Gedore 1707663 is a professional wood-splitting hammer (OX 635 H-3009 / BIG OX) designed for heavy-duty splitting and driving wedges. It features a forged hammer head with a turned nose and an extra-large striking face for reliable impact performance. The tool is supplied with a high-quality hickory handle and blade protection; a complete spare handle with protective sleeve, tapered collar, fixing plate and wood screw is also available. The hammer incorporates the patented ROTBAND-PLUS connection system that bonds head and handle into one unit for enhanced safety, and the long steel handle sleeve protects the handle if the hammer misses the target.

Advantages

The patented ROTBAND-PLUS join (handle sleeve, tapered collar, fixing plate and wood screw) creates a secure, single-unit connection between head and handle, reducing the risk of separation. The forged head with a turned nose and large striking face improves effectiveness when driving wedges. A long steel sleeve protects the wooden handle from impact damage, increasing service life. The hickory handle offers comfortable grip and durability, with a rounded end for added comfort. A complete spare handle set allows easy conversion of compatible OX 35 E + H models to ROTBAND-PLUS specification.

How to use

Grip the hickory handle with a firm two-handed hold, align the extra-large striking face with the wedge or log to be split, and strike with controlled, forceful swings. When driving wedges, use the large striking face for accurate impacts. Ensure the long steel sleeve remains in place and inspect the ROTBAND-PLUS connection before use. If conversion or replacement is needed, fit the spare handle set (sleeve, tapered collar, fixing plate and wood screw) following the manufacturer’s assembly sequence so the head and handle form a secure unit.

Recommendations

Before each use, check the handle, sleeve and ROTBAND-PLUS fixing components for damage or loosening. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves and eye protection). Store the hammer dry and inspect the wooden handle periodically for cracks; replace the handle with the supplied spare set if damage is found.
