Monitor activ PreSonus Eris Studio 8, 80W

The PreSonus Eris Studio 8 is an 80W active monitor speaker engineered for accurate sound reproduction in project and professional studios. It combines an 8-inch Kevlar woofer with a 1-inch silk dome tweeter to provide a wide and even frequency response with low distortion. The cabinet and driver design, together with onboard acoustic tuning controls, allow the monitor to deliver reliable reference sound across different room conditions while maintaining a durable construction suited for regular use.

Advantages

The speaker offers a balanced frequency response and precise midrange detail thanks to the Kevlar woofer and silk dome tweeter combination. Built-in acoustic tuning controls let you adapt the monitor to untreated rooms or near-wall placement without adding external EQ. With an integrated 80W amplification, the unit provides sufficient power for critical listening at typical studio distances while minimizing distortion. The sturdy enclosure and quality components contribute to consistent long-term performance.

Suitable for

• Home and project studios for mixing and mastering
• Small control rooms and post-production workstations
• Audio editing, arrangement and critical listening
• Nearfield monitoring and multimedia production

Key specifications

• Amplification: active 80 Watts total power
• Woofer: 8-inch Kevlar cone for controlled low-frequency response
• Tweeter: 1-inch silk dome for smooth high-frequency reproduction
• Frequency response: wide-band design for accurate monitoring across the spectrum
• Acoustic tuning: onboard controls to adjust for room placement and acoustics
• Enclosure: robust cabinet construction for reduced resonance

How to use

Place the Eris Studio 8 monitors at nearfield listening positions, forming an equilateral triangle with your listening seat for accurate stereo imaging. Use the onboard acoustic tuning controls to reduce bass buildup near walls or smooth high-frequency response in bright rooms. Connect the monitors to your audio interface using balanced inputs when available to minimize noise. Allow a short warm-up period for stable performance at reference levels before critical mixing or mastering sessions.

Recommendations

For accurate results, position the monitors at ear height and maintain symmetric placement relative to reflective surfaces. Use isolation pads or stands to decouple the cabinet from desks or racks, and perform level and tone checks in the listening position to verify the tuning settings fit your room and monitoring chain.
