Microfon de studio Warm Audio WA-47

The Warm Audio WA-47 is a large-diaphragm tube studio microphone that reproduces the classic sound and tonal character of vintage 47-style microphones. Designed for professional recording, the WA-47 combines a gold-sputtered dual-diaphragm K47-style capsule with a premium 5751 vacuum tube and a custom-wound AMI (TAB-Funkenwerk) output transformer to deliver full-bodied analog tone across a frequency range of 20–20,000 Hz. Wired XLR-3 connectivity, a silver nickel-plated brass body and a clip mounting type provide reliable mechanical and electrical integration in studio setups, while a 5 m cable length and 200 Ω output impedance suit a wide range of recording systems.

Advantages

The WA-47 reproduces the timeless vintage 47 sonic profile with careful component selection: a large dual-diaphragm capsule captures detailed lows and mids while a premium 5751 tube adds controlled warmth and presence. A custom AMI output transformer and premium capacitors ensure accurate signal transfer and a wide, detailed output. The microphone’s robust nickel-plated brass construction and hand inspection at Warm Audio HQ support long-term reliability in professional environments. Wired XLR-3 connectivity provides a standard, noise-resistant interface for studio preamps and consoles.

Key specifications

• Frequency response: 20–20,000 Hz
• Total harmonic distortion (THD): 0.5%
• Connectivity: wired XLR-3
• Output impedance: 200 Ω
• Body finish: silver, nickel-plated brass
• Capsule: large dual-diaphragm K47-style, gold-sputtered
• Tube type: 5751 vacuum tube
• Cable length: 5 m (connection cable included)

How to use

Mount the WA-47 in a suitable shock mount or clip, position the capsule toward the sound source and connect the microphone to a compatible tube power supply and preamplifier using the supplied cable and XLR-3 interface. Allow the tube to warm up for several minutes to reach stable operating temperature before critical takes. Set preamp gain conservatively to avoid clipping—adjust distance and microphone angle to shape low-end and presence according to the source. For stereo or multi-microphone setups, check phase coherence and use the custom-wound transformer’s wide output to preserve detail across channels.

Recommendations

Use the WA-47 for sources that benefit from vintage-style warmth and presence: lead vocals, acoustic instruments, piano, and room ambience. Pair with a quality tube power supply, a low-noise microphone preamp and well-shielded cabling to maximize signal fidelity. Allow routine tube maintenance and periodic inspection of the cable and connectors to sustain consistent performance.
