GENERIC HPE PLACĂ BACKPLANE HDD SFF

When a server's storage backplane fails, downtime is measured in lost revenue. This HPE 8-bay SFF backplane board restores full hot-swap capability to ProLiant Gen9 and Gen10 servers, supporting both SAS and SATA drives at up to 12 Gbps. Unlike generic replacements, it matches HPE's exact mechanical and electrical specifications, ensuring a drop-in fit and reliable RAID operation.

Highlights

• 8 drive bays for 2.5-inch SFF SAS or SATA hard drives/SSDs
• Dual Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) host connectors for high-speed data paths
• Supports 12 Gbps SAS-3 and 6 Gbps SATA-III transfer rates
• Hot-swap support with per-drive activity and status LEDs
• 6-pin power connector for stable 12V DC input from server PSU
• Compatible with HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9, DL360 Gen10, and similar rack-mount servers

In daily use

Installation is straightforward: secure the board into the server's drive cage, connect the two Mini-SAS HD cables to the RAID controller, and attach the 6-pin power lead. The backplane then provides a robust interface for up to eight 2.5-inch drives, allowing IT staff to swap failed drives without powering down the server. LED indicators on each bay give immediate visual confirmation of drive activity and health, simplifying maintenance in busy data centers.
