Convertor VGA la DVI-D Lindy 38184

The Lindy VGA to DVI-D Converter (model 38184) connects a VGA source to a DVI-D display, enabling use of DVI monitors with legacy VGA devices. The compact adapter supports resolutions up to 1920x1200@60Hz and includes a USB Type A connection for bus power when extra power is needed. The unit has a 0.2 m cable and comes with a 2 year warranty.

Advantages

This VGA to DVI-D converter provides a simple, direct connection from a VGA (D-Sub) output to a DVI-D input without requiring additional video processing. The small form factor and integrated USB power option make it suitable for installations where the source device cannot supply sufficient power. It maintains analogue-to-digital signal conversion at resolutions up to 1920x1200@60Hz and is compatible with a wide range of legacy PCs, laptops and presentation equipment.

Suitable for

• Connecting older VGA computers or laptops to modern DVI-D monitors
• Office and home workspace setups that require VGA-to-DVI connectivity
• Education environments and classrooms with mixed display standards
• Digital signage installations using analogue PC systems

How to use

Connect the VGA male plug to the VGA output of your source device and attach the DVI-D female end to the DVI monitor using a compatible DVI-D cable. If the source device cannot supply sufficient power, plug the USB Type A connector into a USB port or USB power adapter to provide bus power. Power on both devices and select the DVI input on the display; the converter will handle analogue-to-digital conversion and output the supported resolution automatically.

Recommendations

For best results, use a high-quality DVI-D cable and ensure the USB power connector is connected when connecting older or low-power VGA sources. Verify the display input is set to DVI and confirm the monitor supports 1920x1200@60Hz if that resolution is required.
