Clește tăietor diagonal Knipex 74 02 160

The Knipex 74 02 160 diagonal pliers are designed for demanding, continuous use. Made from forged chrome vanadium heavy-duty steel with oil hardening and featuring induction-hardened cutting edges (approx. 64 HRC), these pliers deliver high cutting performance with minimal effort. At 160 mm length and 209 g weight, they combine durability with manageable handling and a plastic handle for comfortable grip. They are suitable for cutting a wide range of wires, including piano wire.

Advantages

Optimised coordination of the cutting edge angle and transmission ratio provides efficient, high-performance cutting. Induction-hardened precision cutting edges increase wear resistance and allow clean cuts through hard materials such as piano wire. The forged chrome vanadium construction with oil hardening ensures long service life under heavy-duty conditions while the compact 160 mm size supports precise operation in confined spaces.

How to use

Position the cutting edges around the wire close to the joint, apply steady pressure on the handles and make a single decisive cutting motion. For best results with hard wires such as piano wire, ensure the cutting edge meets the wire squarely and avoid twisting or levering motions. Use the pliers in the recommended size range to prevent damage to the cutting edges; do not use as a hammer or for prying.

Recommendations

Keep the cutting edges clean and free of debris and store the pliers dry to maintain induction-hardened edge condition. For long-term performance, avoid cutting materials outside the tool’s intended use and periodically check for wear or damage to the cutting edges and handles.
