Cablu HDMI ShiverPeaks BASIC-S 5 m

The ShiverPeaks BASIC-S 5m HDMI cable provides a reliable connection between HDMI-equipped devices over a 5-metre distance. It uses HDMI Type A connectors at both ends with gold-plated contacts to support stable signal transfer. Rated for a data transfer rate of 8.16 Gbit/s and finished in black, this cable is designed for audio and video transmission in home entertainment and professional display setups while complying with BS77475-9 standards for reliability.

Advantages

The gold-plated HDMI Type A connectors reduce contact resistance and improve corrosion resistance, helping to maintain consistent signal quality. With a transfer rate of 8.16 Gbit/s, the cable supports high-definition video and multichannel audio transmission across a 5 m span. The black jacket provides a discreet appearance for visible installations and the construction meets relevant reliability standards for predictable performance.

Suitable for

• Connecting TVs, monitors or projectors to set-top boxes and media players
• Linking laptops or desktop PCs to external displays
• Home cinema and AV receiver connections within a 5 m range
• Temporary or permanent installations where a standard HDMI Type A cable is required

Key specifications

• Cable length: 5 m
• Connector type: HDMI Type A (both ends)
• Contact finish: Gold-plated contacts
• Data transfer rate: 8.16 Gbit/s
• Colour: Black
• Standards: Conforms to reliability standard BS77475-9

How to use

Inspect both HDMI ports on your source and display devices for dust or debris before connecting. Insert each HDMI Type A connector fully into the corresponding HDMI port until it seats securely. Ensure devices are powered off when making connections if recommended by the device manufacturers; power on devices after the cable is connected. Configure display settings on the source device as needed to select the correct resolution and audio output. For best results, avoid tight bends or kinks in the cable and route it to minimise interference from power cables or strong electromagnetic sources.

Recommendations

For optimal signal integrity, avoid stretching the cable and maintain a minimum bend radius consistent with typical HDMI cable construction. If running the cable alongside mains wiring, keep a separation to reduce potential interference. Use the cable in environments within normal household or office temperature and humidity ranges.
