Burghiu elicoidal Bahco 9629-40

The Bahco 9629-40 spade drill bit is a flat drill bit for wood designed for efficient drilling of larger-diameter holes in wood and other soft materials. Constructed as a single piece, it offers stable performance and straightforward chip evacuation thanks to its flat paddle shape and sharp cutting edge. The bit is suitable for professional tradespeople and DIY users who need quick, clean holemaking in timber, plywood and similar substrates.

Advantages

The one-piece steel construction provides strength and reduces the risk of breakage at the shank. Its flat spade profile and sharp cutting edge enable fast material removal and precise hole centring. The design allows easy ejection of chips, keeping the drilling process cleaner and reducing clogging. Compatible with standard drill chucks, the bit offers reliable performance for repetitive drilling tasks.

Suitable for

• Drilling large through-holes in softwood and hardwood
• Creating openings in plywood, chipboard and laminated panels
• Quick holemaking for cable and pipe routing
• General woodworking and repair tasks

How to use

Fit the Bahco 9629-40 into a compatible drill chuck and tighten securely. Mark the drilling position on the workpiece, start drilling at low speed to ensure correct centring, then increase speed to cut the hole. Apply steady pressure without forcing; withdraw the bit periodically to clear chips if required. Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as safety goggles and hearing protection when drilling.

Recommendations

Use with drills that accept standard round or hex shanks and avoid excessive lateral force to prolong tool life. For smoothest results, clamp the workpiece and pilot with a smaller bit if precise positioning is required.
