Cablu patch duplex LWL CBO SFP8181GU5MK multimod OM5 Uniboot

The Duplex LWL Patch Cable CBO SFP8181GU5MK Multimode OM5 Uniboot by BlueOptics is a duplex multimode fiber patch cord configured in a uniboot design. It combines two optical fibers inside a single compact jacket to enable high-density terminations and simplified routing in racks and patch panels. The cable is specified for OM5 multimode performance, supporting short-reach multimode links commonly used in data centres, enterprise networks and telecom optical distribution.

Advantages

This uniboot duplex cable reduces connector bulk and saves panel space compared with two separate single-fibre cables, while preserving the multimode characteristics required for short-reach applications. The compact design eases cable management in high-density environments and lowers the risk of connector interference. Consistent multimode performance across both fibres supports predictable link behaviour and interoperability with multimode transceivers and MPO/LC infrastructure.

Suitable for

• High-density data centre patching and top-of-rack connections
• Enterprise LAN backbone and horizontal cabling
• Telecom equipment interconnects and optical distribution frames
• Short-reach multimode links using OM5 fiber and duplex LC terminations

Key specifications

• Fibre type: Multimode OM5
• Configuration: Duplex uniboot with two fibres in a single jacket
• Connector type: Duplex LC terminations (standard for uniboot duplex patch cords)
• Jacket: Compact uniboot jacket for high-density installations
• Intended use: Short-reach multimode optical links in data centre and enterprise environments

How to use

Install the duplex uniboot cable by inserting the LC terminations into matching duplex LC ports on transceivers, patch panels or switches, ensuring correct transmit-to-receive orientation. Route the compact jacket through cable management channels or horizontal managers, avoiding sharp bends that exceed the fibre bend radius. Secure the cable at strain-relief points and maintain cleanliness of connectors to ensure low loss and reliable signal transmission.

Recommendations

For optimal performance, use this OM5 uniboot patch cable with certified multimode transceivers and maintain connector endfaces clean using appropriate fiber cleaning tools. Observe minimum bend radius and avoid excessive cable tension; document port mapping to keep duplex pairs correctly aligned.
