Adaptor wireless Inter-Tech DMG-20

The Inter-Tech DMG-20 is a compact wireless adapter designed to add dual-band Wi‑Fi capability to computers and other USB-equipped devices. Supporting IEEE 802.11ac and legacy 802.11b/g/n standards, the adapter provides wireless connectivity on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands with a maximum data transfer rate up to 867 Mbit/s. The device features a USB host interface and a low-profile black housing for unobtrusive, plug-and-play installation.

Advantages

The DMG-20 offers dual-band operation to reduce interference on crowded networks and to enable higher throughput on 5 GHz channels. Its support for modern 802.11ac ensures compatibility with current routers while still working with older 802.11b/g/n equipment. The USB interface allows quick connection to desktops and laptops without internal installation, and the adapter’s small form factor and black finish make it suitable for use with a wide range of devices and environments.

Suitable for

• Adding Wi‑Fi to desktop PCs or laptops without built-in wireless
• Upgrading older systems to faster 802.11ac networks
• Temporary or portable setups requiring quick USB connectivity
• Home and small office environments where dual‑band support is beneficial

How to use

Connect the adapter to an available USB port on your computer. Most modern operating systems will detect the device and install drivers automatically; if automatic installation is not available, use the driver package provided by the operating system or download the appropriate drivers from the manufacturer’s support resources. After installation, select the desired wireless network from your system’s network manager and enter the network password to establish a connection. For optimal performance, choose the 5 GHz band when close to the router and use 2.4 GHz for longer range or through multiple walls.

Recommendations

Place the adapter in a USB port with minimal physical obstruction and avoid placing it directly behind metal objects to reduce signal attenuation. Keep router firmware and adapter drivers up to date to ensure compatibility and security. For sustained high-throughput tasks such as video streaming or large file transfers, use the 5 GHz band and position the host device within a reliable line of sight to the router when possible.
