Adaptor HDMI ShiverPeaks BS77409

The ShiverPeaks BS77409 HDMI Gender Changer is a compact adapter that connects two HDMI cables to extend or reconfigure an HDMI link. It has HDMI-to-HDMI connections and a black housing that integrates unobtrusively into AV setups. Gold-plated contacts ensure reliable signal transfer and reduce contact corrosion for longer service life.

Advantages

This HDMI gender changer provides a simple mechanical solution for joining two HDMI cables without introducing additional active electronics. Gold-plated contacts improve conductivity and resistance to oxidation, while the compact form factor minimises strain on connected cables and fits into tight installation spaces. The neutral black finish matches most AV equipment and cable colours.

Suitable for

• Extending the reach of existing HDMI cables
• Creating a pass-through connection between devices and displays
• Temporary or permanent rearrangement of home theatre or office AV setups
• Connecting HDMI cables in tight spaces where replacing with a longer single cable is impractical

Key specifications

• Connector type: HDMI input to HDMI output
• Contacts: gold-plated for improved signal contact and corrosion resistance
• Housing colour: black
• Form factor: compact, inline adapter

How to use

Align the male HDMI plug of the first cable with one side of the gender changer and insert fully until it seats. Repeat the process with the second HDMI cable on the opposite side. Ensure both connections are straight and secure to avoid signal loss or connector damage. The adapter is passive — no power or configuration is required. When removing, pull on the connector body rather than the cable to reduce stress on cable terminations.

Recommendations

For best signal integrity, use the adapter with high-quality HDMI cables and avoid chaining multiple adapters or excessively long cable runs. Ensure connected devices are powered off when making connections in confined spaces to prevent accidental strain. Inspect connectors periodically for debris or wear and replace the adapter if contacts appear damaged.
